Job Description

Core Power is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician with experience servicing Eaton and/or Vertiv (Liebert) UPS systems.  The candidate will routinely perform preventative maintenance on both the electronics and batteries.  Most preventative maintenance and repair will occur during normal business hours.  However, the position will require to be on 24/7 call for one week per month.  The candidate will typically be traveling directly to local customer sites daily and visiting the office weekly as needed.  Core Power’s service territory is up to a 150 mile radius surrounding Philadelphia.

The selected candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Analyze test data and recognize deviation from acceptable values
  • Manage company assets and control personal inventory
  • Complete preventative maintenance and field activity reports
  • Provide ongoing customer interaction and meet customer service requirements
  • Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements

This position will require following company procedures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safely service equipment in hazardous electrical environments.  The position requires attention to details, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner, and the ability to independently manage workload, while interfacing with customers.  The candidate must also have proficient computer skills, strong written and oral commutation skills, professional attitude and appearance, and an outgoing personality.    

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of power systems, battery technologies, and electronic experience
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited Institution
  • Valid and unrestricted state driver’s license
  • Must have ability and willingness to undergo and pass periodic background checks and drug screenings
  • Position requires ability to perform the following frequent tasks: repetitive lifting/carrying; pushing/pulling; standing; climbing; squatting; bending; kneeling; and driving extended distances
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to read schematics drawings and technical publications
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques
  • Good understanding of single phase and three phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory, and microprocessor controls and programming
  • Understand how to perform phase rotation and phase alignment checks
  • Understand the proper use of hand-tools, and when it is appropriate to use insulated tools
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work history with Eaton and/or Vertiv (Liebert)
  • Understand how to use power quality test Instruments
  • Prior management experience

Job Description

Core Power is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer with electrical design, construction, or project management experience. The candidate will be tasked with supporting the outside sales team with both pre and post sales activities, following projects through all construction phases including design, bidding, submittal, delivery, installation, and commissioning.

The selected candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Review detailed project drawings and specifications
  • Equipment sizing and selection
  • Utilize online configurators to build quotes
  • Develop requests for custom items from factories
  • Prepare bill of materials and quotations
  • Create submittals for Engineering Firms review
  • Enter factory orders
  • Project Management and scheduling startups
  • Customer phone support for installation questions
  • Perform other duties as required

Specific product knowledge is not required.  Selected candidate will be given in-depth training at the manufacturer’s locations by product line experts.  Sales staff will provide ongoing guidance and assistance to help obtain company objectives.  The position is ideal for someone looking to transition their career to technical sales with the desire and ambition to eventually managing their own territory and accounts.

Job Requirements

The candidate must have the ability to prioritize and manage workload independently, communicate effectively with the sales team and customers, and meet deadlines.  In addition, the candidate must have proficient computer skills, professional attitude and appearance, and an outgoing personality.

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to read schematics drawings and technical publications
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Valid and unrestricted state driver’s license
  • Must have ability and willingness undergo and pass background checks and drug screenings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the Construction Industry and Estimating
  • Data Center or Hospital Facility Management Experience
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience at MEP firm
